The Nutcracker 2017!

This was our granddaughters 3rd year performing in the Nutcracker. She is 8yrs old and let
me tell you how amazed and proud I am of her dedication and love for performing in the public.
I have never been one to do any of this... She tried out in Sept and got the part she wanted. She
was a bon bon. She had to start practice each Saturday only being able to miss one or she would
be dropped.... She missed a few sleep overs and parties all with a smile and excitement for the next
practice.

She had to be in full makeup for the rehearsals that started early in the week... And baby it was
cold outside.....

She performed 4 times. She was bummed when it was over but let me tell you she crashed
when it was....
First year as a mouse, second as a toy soldier and third as a bon bon.. Her smile melts my heart.
Definitely was a great start to December.. Merry Christmas! Blessings Pam

Why oh Why?

Why oh why would we start a kitchen remodel early November right before the holidays?
I am sharing an after picture before the before only to keep you here lol. We will be in our
home 3yrs come January. It was built in the 70's and while there is several upgrades the
kitchen isn't one of them. It has driven me nuts but we just don't have thousands to spend so
we decided to do ourselves. I have so many ideas and it will probably take a year or so to
finish..
It has been alot of work and the dust and mess is driving me crazy. I like to have everything
in its place. I am working on patience. The dark old varnish wood with old knobs was just dark
and gloomy.
Many trips to Home Depot and Lowe's for more and more sandpaper I am liking the way
it has turned out.

We will finish up the cabinets after Christmas... We are going to add a back splash to the wall, a new
pendant light above the sink, hopefully a new farmhouse sink, and adding some new trim. Im also hoping to add some underneath lighting under the cupboards. We removed some shudders around the window above the sink and need to plaster that as well. When all is done I will paint the kitchen. Last year around this time we removed a wall to open the kitchen up a little. We also removed the ugly florescent lighting. I was super excited to have won a barn door and will be getting that ordered this week. It will go on the dining room wall. I just have to picture the end project. In the end knowing we did it ourselves will be so rewarding.
The kitchen has been closed but as of late I have some order finally and am going to sit back and
admire what is done and imagine what isn't done and what it will look like....Hope your enjoying your month of December..
                                     Blessings Pam
