Thankful For Saturday!

Most know that of my many collections I love vintage silverware! So to my surprise I was delighted when I was given a three piece set including a broach, key chain, and necklace. One of my customers brought them in to me. They are beautiful.
Started DYI for the Christmas season. Dollar store candles, $1.00 enamel tags from a local boutique, twine, ribbon, and some sheet music I had on hand. About a $7.00 project.

Still making my banners. Its fun for me to do around the house for each season.
This picture really doesn't fit but just had to throw it in.
My friend Angie made this window and I thought it was so fitting for the guest room/Londyn's room!
My mom- she was so beautiful. I loved the era of the bright red lipstick. When I was a child I would watch her get ready for work. She would go to the mirror and what seemed like minutes put that red lipstick on with such passion. Tomorrow is a candle light vigil for hospice at our local fairgrounds. This will be my first experience with this. I think I need to go and it is important in her memory. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I sure have enjoyed participating in the 30 days of being thankful. It is so easy to find and take a moment to see I have so much to be thankful for. Blessings Pam

A few of my scores this past weekend!

The gate above I picked up last week. I love the shabby thing going on. Its paint is chipping and its a little rusty, just the way I like it.
Picked up the little white medicine cabinet also. Haven't figured out where its going yet. The wreath is what I made for fall. However I am going to throw some Red in it for Christmas. It is my favorite color.
While shopping the local shabby barn last weekend my sister picked up a stack of books. I said I could make you one. I told her to spend her money on something else. I came home and put this stack together. What was special about it is it was books of our mothers. So she can really treasure it.
Having a phone handy all the time makes it easy for me to take collages of my home. It is fun and I enjoy my instagram for it.
I came across the picture of my mama while uploading for this post. This was a few weeks before she passed. We were going through her personal belongings and came across her dads railroad hat. We laughed and had a great time. I miss her so so much. What a great memory to treasure. Now I think I need to locate this hat. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Blessings Pam

A little of this a little of that!

Found this shabby tool box one day at Habitat! It was $3.00 I thought I would paint it but after looking it over I like it just the way it is.
Yesterday I went shopping for the day with my sister Penny and sister in law (friend) Starla! When we get together it is normally an all day thing. We can spend hours at one place. We really do have a lot of fun. Pictured above was another $3.00 find at a local bazaar! I love handmade things as I recognize the hard work and gratification that goes into making things. Couldn't resist it.

We hit several craft fairs, estate sale, Emma's boutique, and Blackberry Junction. For those of you that don't know what that is, it is a seasonal shabby sale. I look forward to it each season. So many vendors. It gets packed elbow to elbow, and the line to pay well it usually takes quite awhile to get through. This one I think was my all time favorite. I will have to share my loot soon.
Several weeks ago I entered to win this over at http://www.lisaleonardonline.com/blog/!  I was so excited to win. Part of my gift came and last night I went and bought frames for these prints.
I love them. Today is a chore day and I am trying to get motivated to start. My daughter Jordan made it home last night from Hawaii safe and sound. So happy about that. I had Londyn most of last week. So by Friday I came home and just sat and caught up on t.v. shows. Now I really need to get busy. Hope you have a wonderful day. Blessings Pam

Moving things around again!

Today I am thankful for many things. One being a stay at home pajama day. Working each day does not allow me time to play as much as I like too. I needed to clear my porch off as the weather is starting to get colder and more wind and rain. I had to move the old table in. Its going to be crowded for awhile as I don't have any storage. Pictured below was a picture of my porch. I love decorating it. For now I will keep it minimal.

I love my new thankful banner I won from http://cottage-wishes.blogspot.com/!
My two children pictured above. Noah went to California for the duck game. He is home safe. Jordan turned 23 on the 8th! For her birthday she got to go to Hawaii for a week. I found out they landed safely. So I am so thankful for that. My birthday present to her was helping watch Londyn. She will stay 4/5 nights with us.
This picture was her having girls night with her Auntie. Looks like trouble to me. She is only 4 and will be 5 in January. She is around alot of girls and loves to get her fingers and toes painted. I'm getting my stuff done today and tomorrow so I can enjoy some good times with her. I'm so thankful for my family. Hope you have a wonderful rest of the weekend. Blessings Pam

30 Days of being Thankful!

Thankful,
I am doing the 30days of being Thankful on facebook and instagram. I have heard several mention they are tired of hearing all the thankfulness already. For me I am really enjoying taking the time each day to recognize the things I am thankful for. Yesterday was day 6 and two months since my surgery to remove my gallbladder. Wow I am so thankful for how I feel now and look back at all the years and how sick I was. I feel like a new person. For me I was misdiagnosed for so many years, took medicine for years that I probably didn't need, and just coated it for short periods of time. I would go out to eat spend a little sometimes a lot and than come home alot of the time in a fetal position for hours wondering why I just spent the money. I can now eat anything w/o any pain and I am so thankful for that. While I wont share each day of thankfulness on my blog, I am so thankful for so many things. I look forward to each day to share what that is. Feeling blessed.. Hope you have a wonderful day! Blessings Pam

Things around the house!

I love these little baskets I found at Habitat. They were marked $3.00 on each one. I took them up and asked if they were for all or for one. He said hmn I guess for one! I think I scored as they are really cool!
Making lots of banners, mostly for myself and for gifts. They are so easy to make while watching t.v. Everyone tells me I should sell them. For me that would put to much pressure on me. Now I don't care about flaws, exact measurements and so on.
My chalkboard door was a $4.00 score at Habitat. While it didn't look like this when I brought it home, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. I had everything to do it.
While out and about the other day I happened upon some pine cones. I picked as many as I could hold and brought them home adding them throughout the house. So fun, cheap and easy just to add a little of outside nature.
Oh la la treasures from the parents homestead. Cleaned it up last night and today I will figure out what I am doing with it. The piece of wood I think I will add some hooks to it with some of the ones inside the box.
A little late posting but wanted to share these cute pics with you. My son Noah pictured above. So handsome.
My twin Penny's son Jonah pictured above with his girlfriend. They are so cute together. Lots of people ask me since you and Penny look so much alike do your kids? Well I think you can see a resemblance between Jonah and Noah!
My beautiful daughter Jordan and granddaughter Londyn. I love the picture on the right. Looks like they are telling secrets. I am enjoying doing the 30 days of being Thankful. I am on facebook and instagram. So much to be thankful for! Hope you have a great week! Blessings Pam

Happy Birthday Mama!

Happy Birthday to my mom! Today is her birthday. The first one w/o here. I sure miss her. I wish I could give her a hug and a kiss. She at her age was hard to buy for. She didn't want for much, had everything she needed. Most of the time these past few years I would go and clean her house for her. She got such joy in that. She was such a generous person. Thought of everyone else but herself. I know God has a plan in everything. While my other siblings are 18 plus years older my twin and I came much later. I am so thankful we have each other to share this day with. There is no one else I would want to spend the day with.

Today is a day to celebrate mom and we are going to do just that. Hope you have a wonderful day! Blessings Pam
