Holiday Sweets and Some Sweets! Dec 5th 2015

Londyn had her performance yesterday. She did amazing. She performed ballet first and than her hip hop.
For several months they have practiced, all her hard work payed off. She really enjoys ballet. She had decided she didn't want to continue with hip hop but to do tap. However after yesterday she changed her mind and wants to continue with hip hop.
Our son Noah came with his girlfriend Jessica. It was the first time she has met Londyn. She gave her a little owl necklace and I think she won her over. I have really enjoyed getting to know Jessica. She has a kind and giving heart.

Being grandparents really is amazing. I am so very blessed and proud. Next weekend she will
perform in The Nutcracker. She is mouse #7! Which had become her new nickname. I have missed blogging and am reminded that this is my journal. I look forward to many more memories to share. Blessings Pam

Has it really been that long?

Wow its almost been a month since I blogged! I have missed it. Summertime has been super busy for us and everyone else I suppose. We have went camping once. Leaving for Vegas in a week, Montana trip planned for the guys when we get back, and than when they return another camping trip for us. I love being busy and trying to simplify around the house.
My last home was all white. This house we bought in January is all dark trim so trying to switch over. I found these shutters at a local barn sale and fell in love with them. They were dirty and with a little Murphy's oil shined up quite nice.
Our home was built in the 70's and while it has a lot of upgrades there is still a few treasures from the past. These built in shutters kinda add a little character to the home. Not sure they will stay but for now I have to learn patience while we add little fixes throughout. We bought wood custom blinds for a couple of the windows and I have to replace one at a time as I had no idea the cost of them.

I bought this wire lampshade a few weeks ago along with this apron. I put them together and am going to make a light out of it. Hoping I can figure it out. For now I am just enjoying family and friends and building lots of projects up for the fall. Blessings Pam

The Shabby Hoot's First Shabby Sale!

My sis and I held our first shabby sale last weekend. This gal pictured above came and volunteered her time and for that I am forever grateful. My friend Mindy also helped throughout the week and weekend. She helped make signs, brought her items over, got lunch, brought Lemonade stand for the kids to participate in the sale.
I planned on selling this little blue bike and could of time and time again. After looking at it I just couldn't part with it. It made for a cute display. Everything else sold except the buffet which wasn't for sale.
We had chairs, scales, windows, doors, chalkboards, typewriters, you name it we had it.

I had to take a pic of the line we had waiting to pay. Amazing and I was so giddy about it. The time, work and energy it took made it all worth while to see so many people leaving with a treasure. I have had several since than sending pics of their prize pieces and what they have done with them.
Sunday started out quiet and we weren't left with much but we still managed to get rid of mostly everything. Even my daughter came and bought this bike from my friend and took home this gate. I am happy she is finally loving shabby. It took her awhile and I questioned who's daughter's she was lol.

In the end the kids made some money and I made some and we were all one big happy family. I am already planning in my head my next sale. Hope you enjoy your day. Blessings Pam

Busy May!

May brings Mother's Day, wedding Anniversary and our son Noah's birthday. It tends to be a very busy month. I asked for bark dust and flowers for Mother's Day and I got it.
Slowly decorating the outside with each sunny day! Love this old staircase piece that was my dads and sat in his shop for many years.
My daughter and granddaughter worked on their porch and I sent them a potting stand and birdcage. Love that she is starting to like some of my junk. The birdcage was my mama's!
Love when my customers bring me such great surprises. This chicken feeder was one of them and I sat a vase down in and used on my table.
Had to share this picture my niece captured of my granddaughter using the hula hoop. Amazing photo. She is 6 and such a happy girl.
We managed to squeeze in some winery events also. Two concerts. This dear couple we met last year and I see a great friendship developing here.
This past weekend we attending a concert at the winery. What a beautiful place. The view is amazing and the sun shined.

We held a party for our son's 26th birthday. It was fun to light candles and play music. I think everyone had a great time.
My son what can I say he is amazing. He has a kind heart and takes care of his mama as you can tell pictured above.
We even squeezed in two nights at the coast with Londyn. She is so much fun and after we dropped her off at home I missed her like crazy. I am sure we will do a few more trips this summer. May has flown by but I am blessed for each moment I have had. Hope you are as well. Blessings Pam

Fundraisers, Flags, and Family!

A friend of mine was having a cancer fundraiser for her granddaughter this past weekend. Of course cancer touches close to home as we are all effected by this horrible disease. I scored some beautiful items. One being this wonderful scale. I collect them and couldn't pass it up. It was all make offers and I offered $20.00 she said are you sure that isn't to much. Well I thought it wasn't enough, so I went back the next morning and bought some more. All items pictured above were $1.00 It was a feel good day!

The month of May is our wedding anniversary. 28 years. Some days it seems like yesterday and some like an eternity. This garden flag was made by a  young lady with lots of talent. I love it and can't wait to get a holder for it. I know its going to fade and get weathered and I almost don't want to use it. Trying to get better about using that lotion, perfume, pretty dish etc as life is to short not too!
Now for the super fun part. This little lady of mine pictured above. She is my granddaughter Londyn aka shugs, shuggie fae. She is 6 now. She has a heart of gold, compassionate, sensitive, smart, well you get the picture. I adore her beyond measure. Her little cousin was born March 30th. Her name is Saylor B'nai and Londyn is smitten with her like we all are. My daughter managed to snag some wonderful pics yesterday. I couldn't help but get teary eyed.
I am off to participate in a church function today. Guess you could say this weekend definitely is a feel good weekend. Blessings Pam

She Believed She Could So She Did!

Well I have had a week of it! While not going into a whole long story I had some dental work done, something they felt I needed done but I wasn't bothered at the time. It has been very exhausting and taking a toll on me and my family. I feel like I am the most important piece to the puzzle and when its lost the whole family becomes lost. So two trips to the dentist, two prescriptions for pain pills, two for antibiotics, a whole bunch of crying and whining I am on the mend. I never missed work but for one day but would come home medicate and lay down. I wanted to be me, energized, creative, busy and just plain me, but everyday I just made it through. Today I pushed through and am managing. Praying for comfort and peace and praising God for healing my body.
A beautiful gift at my door last night from my twin sis Penny who picks up the slack at work when I am down, feels my pain and loves me unconditionally. She is my rock and without mama here she really does comfort me. I sure miss my mom when I am sick or in pain.
I am slowly preparing for a big sale in June and keep pulling from my shed so many treasures. So much work but I pray it is all worth it. I really need to purge some beautiful things. I am so surprised at how much stuff I have accumulated through the years. Blessings Pam
