Home is where the Heart is!

Today I embrace being home! It rains softly outside and I figure it will allow me to get some stuff done on the inside. Slow down, count my blessings and breathe.

I got this cute little white shelf last weekend at a garage sale. I attached it to my toolbox now and hung some dishes and added some old bottles. It works for now.
My granddaughter loves to come over and see what I have moved around. She says" You know that gammy she is always moving things". It is so cute. Hope your all enjoying your day. Blessings Pam

Enjoying the Little Things in Life!

Reflecting on the little things in life that mean the most as of late. I look at my grown children and my granddaughter and I am beyond grateful for them, my home, the car I drive, the family I have!
Our little town in Oregon is the first in the state to have a Hobby Lobby. That is huge for us. I am so excited for this store. I went yesterday and pictured above I found a pillow cover, kitchen sign, and two yard stakes for a whole $11.00! This is going to be my pit stop I can tell.
I found a place for all my treasures. Pillow cover was like $5.99 with 40% off. Crazy right?
People ask how I decorate, shabby, primitive, antique, modern? Well I don't know how to answer that, I just throw what I like all together and it works for me. I found these primitive cutting boards on a local virtual site for $4.00 each. From what I am hearing I got a steal!
I did a little transformation on this cabinet the other night. Pictured right is the new look. I took it off the wall as the wall was to congested. I like how it turned out.
This wreath has been a work in progress. I add from time to time. I stopped at my parents homestead the other day,( as most know they both passed in 2013) and grabbed some of my mothers dove feathers, I thought it would be a nice touch. I added a chalk label and paper scroll. I like how it turned out. I think I will call it done until the next time lol. Hope you have a wonderful day. Blessings Pam

Feeling uninspired as of late!

You wouldnt know it by looking at my pictures but I have spent the last month or so purging and giving stuff away. I realized I have a bad habit of not just getting one thing but if I like it I have to have several.
Scales being one of them. I love them and have so many. This rusty one was on the porch so I brought it in when I rearranged the porch. It is just to big and I need to find another place for it. I am starting small by trying to get rid of all the magazines I have kept for years that I never read etc.
I have since sold my little ladder that displayed my linens. It feels good as I just don't think you can admire or appreciate something when there is so much to look at. I have been told my place looks like a little store. Is that good or bad? I don't know?
Again another collection I started of tea cups.

I have been so busy with trips, birthday parties, bike rides, camping and park trips. It has left little time to blog. I realize I miss it. I hope you have a wonderful day! Blessings Pam

Simplicity!

Keeping it simple these days! I have been doing alot of organizing and cleaning out clutter. If it doesn't serve a purpose than get rid of it! I had really accumulated so much stuff this past year. I have stayed away from garage sales and thrift stores. It feels good to purge. I think to not that I am that old but I have reached a point where I don't need anything. I can walk into a store to grab what I need and not buy something just because or to make me feel better. When my parents passed in 2013 I think I did just that. I brought so much stuff home of theirs just to hold onto a piece of them. While I haven't gotten rid of their stuff I have come to realize that memories are whats worth keeping. I love the shabby deco but also want to go a bit more modern. So as I get rid of I will maybe replace a little with just that. Have a wonderful Wednesday! Blessings Pam
We do not remember days we remember moments!
