Instagram orders and around the home!

Do you ever feel that sometimes your blogging friends/instagram friends are your family? I do! I love the love that I get from them. These headbands came from Lisa from SWEETBUGOBOO! She has so much talent and I adore them.
Some of you know Jill from http://www.sewafineseam.com/ She amazes me with her talent as well. I ordered this pouffe from her and I adore it. She sent me this banner as we have sent things back and from to one another. Another friendship I have made along the way.

This summer has been slow at work which allows me lots of time to play house at home. I have really tried to spend less and shop my home. I love my things and enjoy moving things around daily.
I went to a couple of garage sales last weekend and came home with some treasures.
I also love to do DYI projects. I painted this stool that I salvaged from my dads shop. While its not perfect I love how it turned out. I also added this pillow to this box for my little yorkie Scobby to sleep in.
I hope you are enjoying your final days of summer. I am for sure. I will get to spend the next 11 days helping with my granddaughter Londyn while her mommy is away to Hawaii. I am going to focus as much time as I can making it fun for her. Have a wonderful evening. Blessings Pam

Changes around the house!

I love collections and probably have way more than I need. These old jars were stored in my moms antique room for many years. Some have lids some didn't. I added these cute chalk labels to them. I needed a change on my kitchen counters and like how it turned out.
I love the iron bottle opener from my sister Penny. She also gave me the white chippy wood piece and the mirror on the back display. She gets rid of I salvage it.
Hit some garage sales and came home with oil can and this little vintage mini mixer.
Also scored this mini postal scale, burlap bag and another old bag I have displayed on my hutch.  All for under $5.00 SCORE!
It was a great day with lots of treasures. I am a sucker for pillows and have way to many. Another collection I suppose. Love glass knobs and the little shaving brush oh my!
We have the first Hobby Lobby in the state and I am smitten. I stenciled the crowns on burlap and gave as gifts. They have all their Christmas ornaments out and of course I had to have some. However I am not using as Christmas.
It is well with my soul is the first thing I see each day when I enter my bedroom. It is such a great reminder. Hope you enjoy your Sunday. Blessings Pam

Hutch Project Complete!

I had this hutch bottom part given to me my a neighbor. Top hutch I picked up from a local barn sale. I thought they were a perfect fit. I just finally did get to paint it. I am not much for painting and so I kept putting it off. It took several coats and I am not sure if I am going to sand it yet and make it a little rough around the edges but for now I am done.

I found this stencil at Hobby Lobby and thought it would look cute! I like how it turned out. I can always change it later.
I am having fun decorating and adding stuff to it. I found this little postal scale at a garage sale yesterday and couldn't pass it up. The old bag was a find too and paid just a dollar or so for it. Thanks for all the kind emails I got from my previous post. I am healing quite nicely and have had no problems with it. Have a wonderful Sunday. Blessings Pam

What is Basal Cell Carsinoma?

It all started back in May when we vacationed in Hawaii! I noticed a spot on my face close to my right eye that appeared different than anything I have ever had. We have always went on  vacations to hot places, Mexico, Hawaii, Jamaica, Israel, Nevada, California. I love the sun and truthfully I have never used much sunscreen.  Well that changes as of today! On July 21st I went to a dermatologist, had a full body check, a biopsy on my face, on July 25 it was confirmed that in fact it was Basal Cell.
Basal Cell Carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer in the world and the number of cases still continue to rise. Prevention: sunscreen, seek shade (the sun's rays are strongest between 10-4 each day.) While 99% treatable for me it was still very scary. Cancer of any sort is Cancer! I was very blessed to have caught it early. In some cases skin grafts are needed, numbness can remain, several layers need to be removed. In my case only one layer was removed and the cancer is gone.

So now I will wear sunscreen, avoid the hot sun, wear sunglasses as well, and hats will be my new best friend. I am fine and will heal. I just wanted to share my story so that people like me have a better understanding of what can happen. It happens all around us. It can repeat itself and if you have it or have had it, it can come back easier.

The sun is very damaging on your eyes as well. If only I could keep a pair of sunglasses. I have resided to buying them from the dollar store as I lose them daily. In fact after having my surgery yesterday we stopped so I could buy a pair and I cant find them today. Hope you have a great day and wear your sunscreen and glasses. Blessings Pam
